By Harry Awurumibe Still basking in the euphoria of Nigeria’s hard earned 1-0 victory over debutants- Haiti , members of the Falconets have vowed to beat their Asian opponents -China on Monday at Stade du Clos Gastel in Dinan-Lehon, France.
Nigeria will need a draw of any kind or outright win over China to qualify to the next stage of the on- going FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final. And to achieve this objective some Falconets players have revealed that they have resolved to put up a better performance against the Chinese on Monday when both teams clash in the last Group D match.
Reliable goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie who put up a Five Star Performance in the match against Haiti on Thurday at Stade de Marville in Saint Malo has however told PromptNews exclusively that the players have held a meeting immediately after beating the hard- fighting Haitian girls that they will face the Chinese team with the same zeal they defeated their last opponents.
According to Nnadozie who won the Man of the Match Award because of her bravery in the match against Haiti said they can not afford to drop their guard on Monday when they face China, adding that the Falconets will play for one another in order to get something out of the crucial game against China.
Also defender, Joy Duru who had a good game on the day disclosed that the players now believe that they have what it takes to go far in the competition and the only way to show their seriousness is to beat China to qualify for the quarter final.
” We (players ) have talking to ourselves about the job we have to do and have agreed that we can beat any team if we remain focused and play according to our coaches instructions. I believe we have the players to beat China. It is possible, Duru said.
