Dr Israel Akinadewo, Supreme Head, Motalitu Cherubim And Seraphim Church Worldwide, has urged Nigerians to be thankful to God for keeping the country together throughout the outgoing year.
Speaking in Lagos on Sunday during the church’s 15th interdenominational Christmas Carol, Akinadewo said it was the grace of God that had kept the country together in spite of its many challenges during the year.
“The way the country is structured from the North to the West, East and South, it takes the grace of God in keeping this large ethnic society together.
“We have made it this far and everything would work out as the Lord would lead us throughout 2019 and years beyond.
“This is a critical time for the country due to the upcoming elections with a lot of politicians making promises but the electorate should keep it in mind that God will never fail them,” he said.
Earlier, the Guest Speaker, Prof. Yusufu Turaki, former Vice President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), urged Nigerians to use the season to elevate people in their communities.
“This season should be used in elevating people, especially the less privileged and those in poverty.
“The wealthy ones must ensure that this season is used in empowering people in their communities so they can have a feel of the festive period.
“We must ensure that we work as a team in making his country great in the nearest future,” he said.
NAN reports that church went on door to door ministrations after the carol.
