The Kwese Premier Basketball League Conference play-offs continued Friday with the Bauchi centre recording the biggest upset of the day as Gombe Bulls handed defending champions, Kano Pillars their heaviest defeat in recent times.
Both sides which are the top teams of the Savannah Conference continued their rivalry after the explosive encounter in last year’s final where the Kano side subdued their opponents to take home the N20 million top prize, the first of its kind in the league.
Gombe Bulls started the first quarter on a frenetic note, taking the lead by five points at 21-16 and never removed their foot from the pedal until they wrapped up the game at 79-56.
At the Atlantic Conference, the defending champions, Kwara Falcons tore Delta Force of Asaba apart with a 30-point defeat at 75-45 while Customs of Lagos suffered their second defeat in the competition with a 3-point loss to 2017 broze medal winners, Hoops & Read also of Lagos 80-83.
